Writing Consultants for COLWRIT R1A

We have faculty consultants available to mentor you and support you in revising a COLWRIT R1A essay-in-progress over Zoom, email, or phone during the following posted hours. All of the faculty have years of experience teaching writing and can work with all students.

When you email an instructor to request an appointment please mention that you are a student in COLWRIT R1A this semester, and let us know who your instructor is. And please read the FAQ to help with getting the most out of your appointment.

Make the most of your online consulting

  • Ask first about the best way to conference. Be open about technology and limitations.
  • Be ready with specific questions or problems to discuss. Have drafts ready to share.
  • Make contact early in the writing process so you have time to revise after the meeting.
  • Remember, we don't simply edit and proofread your essay for you. We help you develop strategies for strengthening your writing and ideas on your own.
  • Keep an open mind, and be ready to work!
