Writing Consultants for COLWRIT R1A & R4A

We have faculty consultants available to work with CWR1A students as well as CWR4A students.  We can support you in brainstorming for a writing assignment or in revising an essay-in-progress during our posted consultant office hours (see below) – over Zoom or in person. All of the faculty have years of experience teaching writing and can work with any student.

When you email an instructor to request an appointment, please mention that you are a student in COLWRIT R1A or R4A this semester who would like to schedule a consulting appointment, and let us know who your instructor is.

Read over the guidelines below to help you get the most out of your consultation.

Make the most of your writing conference

  • Bring your notes and ideas if you’re in the brainstorm stage for a writing assignment – or bring specific questions and concerns along with a draft you’d like to discuss.

  • Make an appointment early in the writing process so you have ample time to revise after the meeting.

  • Keep an open mind as we help you develop your own strategies for strengthening your writing and ideas.
