CWP builds community around writing on campus and beyond by hosting events for students and teachers, interviewing campus writers, maintaining a resource library, and publishing an online forum for the teaching of writing across campus.

The 2018 American Cultures Teaching Award was awarded to College Writing Programs Lecturer Patricia Steenland for her 50AC/150AC course, "Researching Water in the West."

On Friday, April 6, BBC Broadcaster Robin Lustig and Producer Mohini Patel interviewed College Writing Programs lecturer Carmen Acevedo Butcher and several first-year students from her CW R4B course, “The Meme and the Human: Digital Literacies,” as part of fieldwork for the upcoming BBC World Service “Future of English” four-part radio series.
