CWP builds community around writing on campus and beyond by hosting events for students and teachers, interviewing campus writers, maintaining a resource library, and publishing an online forum for the teaching of writing across campus.

We are proud of our campus writing community, and we work to showcase that community’s talents.

Over 300 CWR4B student writers presented their research projects in our biannual online festival. Presenting and responding to their peers, CWR4B students showcased their excellence in undergraduate research and writing in this online symposium.

Congratulations to Ria Sood and Lark Chang-Yeh for their selection as winners of the 2022 Charlene Conrad Liebau Library Prize for Undergraduate Research. Both are current students of CWP lecturer Ryan Sloan and submitted work completed for his CWR4B class.

Tory Adkisson's debut poetry collection, THE FLESH BETWEEN US, selected by Brian Turner as the winner of the Crab Orchard Open Book Award, comes out October 11, 2021 from SIU Press.

For the seventh year, College Writing Programs will be hosting the College Writing R4B Chiang Research Festival.  This fall, as in spring & fall 2020, we will run two virtual festivals via Zoom.
