CWP builds community around writing on campus and beyond by hosting events for students and teachers, interviewing campus writers, maintaining a resource library, and publishing an online forum for the teaching of writing across campus.

Jihoon Park, a former student in CWP's 130 "Introduction to the Craft of Short Fiction" taught by Kim Freeman, is now a student in the MFA in Creative Writing at George Mason. He recently published the short story "The Zookeeper's Guide to Animals" in New World Writing.

Margi Wald has received TESOL International Association's 2021 Virginia French Allen Award in recognition of her scholarship and service to TESOL and its state affiliate CATESOL.

Kim Freeman will be speaking at the fall 2020 Faculty Sustainability Workshop on Thursday, December 10th. Participants will discuss integrating sustainability principles into their curricula.

The next AWP examination is scheduled for January 6, 2021 at 6 pm PST and 9 a.m. January 7, 2021. Registration will open in November. Please see more information on our AWP information page. Results will be ready before the beginning of spring 2021 classes.
