Jordan Ruyle has an MA in French literature from CSULB and a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from CSU East Bay. Throughout his career as a teacher, Jordan has focused on second language acquisition and second language composition. Before coming to Cal, he taught at Golden Gate University, helping international graduate students prepare for the MBA program. Since joining Berkeley’s College Writing Programs in 2013, he has taught CWR1A and developed CW9C/ 109C, an academic writing course for multilingual student writers at Berkeley. In 2015, he was accepted as one of UC Berkeley’s Lecturer Teaching Fellows, which has given him an opportunity to continue research into the pragmatics of classroom discourse and written rhetoric for international students.
