On Monday, December 5, over 150 College Writing R4B students gave short talks about their final research projects for the semester to an audience of their peers, faculty, librarians, and other members of the Cal community at the fifth installation of College Writing Programs' Chiang Research Festival.

The winning submission for the 2016 Art of Writing essay contest was Taj Hittenberger’s essay about familial bonds to the Russian River watershed. Taj Hittenberger was a student in Teri Crisp's College Writing 110 (Advanced Composition), for which this essay was written.

On Monday, May 2, College Writing Programs featured its fourth Research Festival for R4B students. Hosted by ETS in their expansive new Academic Innovation Studio, the Festival showcased the work of 162 speakers in 5 rounds from 12 sections
