Paya, a documentary by Pat Steenland's former CW 150AC student Jenna Cavelle, has won Best Short Documentary at the Red Nation Film Festival in LA in a ceremony filmed by HBO. The documentary features Harry Williams--a Paiute water rights activist, elder, first officially recognized ACES community scholar, and community partner for CW 50/150AC. At the award ceremony on November 22, Cavelle gave the award to Williams, who dedicated the award to Steenland, Victoria Robinson of American Cultures, and the American Cultures Engaged Scholarship Program.  Cavelle is currently a graduate student in USC film school.
