CWP builds community around writing on campus and beyond by hosting events for students and teachers, interviewing campus writers, maintaining a resource library, and publishing an online forum for the teaching of writing across campus.

We are proud of our campus writing community, and we work to showcase that community’s talents.

College Writing and the School of Education will offer a series of courses aimed at those interested in English language education for multilingual students. Berkeley students will be able to earn a minor after completing the series of five courses, and visitors can earn a certificate.

Mark Johnson, a student in Pat Steenland's College Writing 50/150AC class in Spring 2017, won the 2017 American Cultures Student Research Prize for "Management of Culturally Sensitive Native American Materials," the final project he did for the course,

Derrick Tao, formerly in College Writing 105 and 110, has recently published a research letter in the Journal of the American Medical Association. "Financial Conflicts of Interest among Hemotologist-Oncologists on Twitter" was published January 17, 2017 in JAMA Internal Medicine.
