This section presents critical reviews of software and print publications that do not fit into one of the specialized Chorus sections.

The orientation of Mixed Reviews differs significantly from trade publications. First, this is an amateur forum in the best sense. No advertising means that we are free to publish thoughtful, critical material. Second, our academic and professional contributors assess publications from perspectives other than that of the technician and business person. Finally, Mixed Reviews examines software and print publications that receive little or no attention in the popular press. Therefore, it fills an important gap.

We are particularly interested in reviewing software that supports electronic publishing, teaching and research. Reviews of electronic and print publications that assess cyberculture from diverse, critical perspectives are also warmly received.

Those interested in reviewing for us should consult the Mixed Reviews Contributors Guidelines, and submit a review request. Reviewers will be asked to retain a copy of the relevant publication upon completing their review. We regret that no other form of remuneration can be offered.
